Data Analyst Internship - Opportunity Alert!!
Open Knowledge Nepal is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst Intern to support data-driven aspects of our initiatives. This internship is ideal for students or early-career professionals interested in using data to drive social change, improve transparency, and support open knowledge.
As a Data Analyst Intern, you will assist in collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data across various projects. Alongside analytical work, you will contribute to documentation, communication materials, and proposal research and writing.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to explore how open data, civic technology, and research come together to support public accountability and evidence-based decision-making in Nepal.
Open Knowledge Nepal is a nonprofit civic tech organization driven by a belief that open knowledge contributes to participatory governance and sustainable development. We focus on research, advocacy, community training, and building open-source tools that strengthen data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis: Support data collection, cleaning, transformation, and basic analysis for civic-tech and research projects.
- Data Visualization: Assist in preparing charts, dashboards, and visual summaries using tools like Google Sheets, Datawrapper, or Tableau.
- Documentation & Reporting: Help draft data reports, internal summaries, and project-related documentation.
- Proposal Support: Assist with data inputs and background research for proposals and concept notes.
- Communication Materials: Contribute to content creation for internal and external communications, including data-driven social media posts and visual reports.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with the program team, interns, and partners to ensure smooth execution and documentation of data activities.
Qualifications
- Professionals with relevant experience or recent graduate in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Basic experience or strong interest in data tools (e.g., Google Sheets, Excel, Python, R, SQL, or data visualization tools).
- Familiarity with civic-tech tools such as Git/GitHub, open data platforms, and collaborative documentation environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Nepali.
- Passion for data, civic tech, and social impact.
- Interest in web or software development is a plus.
Location
- Remote with flexible working hours.
