Open Data Nepal (ODN)
Nepal's largest open data portal, hosting 630+ datasets from 48 publishers across 24 categories. Anyone can publish, explore, download and reuse government and civic data, plus browse data-driven stories on issues from inflation to child labour.
School of Data Nepal
OKN's training arm for digital, data and AI literacy. Since 2013 it has trained over 2,000 people, including youth, women, journalists, civil society and government staff, across 15 districts, through free courses and community projects built on real Nepali data.
Integrated Data Management System (IDMS)
IDMS brings data from different municipal departments into one central system, making it easier to share information across departments and with the public. Built on FAIR data principles, it's now running in production in municipalities across Nepal.
Multilingual Corpus and Moderation (MuLCAM)
Nepal's first open, context aware linguistic corpus documenting Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) across Nepali scripts and languages. Built with feminist review practices, it lays the groundwork for moderation tools that detect online abuse without stripping users of agency.
Urban Atlas Nepal
An open data and methodology layer that structures Nepal's scattered urban risk research on flood, earthquake and air quality data into ward level intelligence. Its first application, SmartHousing Nepal, already covers all 247 wards of Kathmandu Valley.
Open Data Handbook Nepali Version
The first Nepali translation of the international Open Data Handbook, helping policymakers, civil society and everyday citizens understand what open data is and why it matters in their own language.
Climate Knowledge Portal (Nepal)
A single home for Nepal's climate evidence, aggregating open datasets, curated research and global climate sources so researchers, journalists and policymakers can find and act on the data behind a warming Himalaya.
LocalBoundaries
Open, ready to use administrative boundary data for all of Nepal's 7 provinces, 77 districts and 755 local levels, downloadable in GeoJSON, TopoJSON, Shapefile, KML or GeoPackage for instant use in GIS tools and web maps.
Local Government (LG) Data Fellowship
A fellowship placing young data professionals inside municipal offices to help digitize records and operationalize IDMS. Fellows have already supported Tulsipur, Birgunj and Lekbeshi in building data ecosystems that improve local decision-making.
OSM Hackfest 2022
Nepal's first national OpenStreetMap hackathon, where college teams built public interest solutions using open mapping and open source tools, with the winning team sponsored to present at the regional State of the Map Asia conference.
Women in Data Conference
An annual, no cost conference bringing around 250 participants together to advance women's leadership in the data field, with travel scholarships for attendees outside Kathmandu Valley and sessions in both Nepali and English.
