Handbook
The "Open Data Handbook Nepali Version", is the first Nepali translation of the Open Data Handbook by Open Knowledge Foundation. It comprehensively explores the legal, social, and technical aspects of open data, explaining its definition, importance, and adoption methods. Targeted at diverse audiences, including policymakers, citizens, and developers, the handbook highlights how open data fosters transparency, civic participation, and innovation in governance and services. It includes local Nepali examples and case studies, emphasizing practical applications like data aggregation and visualization using accessible formats (e.g., CSV, JSON). Supported by youth-led efforts and key endorsements from figures like Krishna Hari Baskota and Nama Raj Budhathoki, the handbook advocates for standardized data systems and scalable open data initiatives to drive Nepal’s development.
