Open Technologies for Public Good: 12 ideas,12 teams, 8 colleges, 5 days.

OSM Hackfest 2022 organizer committee is excited to announce the 12 teams who will be part of Hackfest 2022.

OSM Hackfest 2022 is a national competition that aims for students to:

  • Utilize the free and open-source geographical database of the world to build impactful civic tools and technologies.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of OSM & Open Technologies.
  • Showcase ideas and skillsets on a regional scale.

The winning team of OSM Hackfest 2022 will be fully sponsored for “State of The Map Asia” happening at Philippines.

In addition, we would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the 17 colleges, who hosted us for the introductory program, “Open Technologies for Public Good”. Where we shared our knowledge, experience, and skills with students and raised discussion on Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), OpenStreetMap (OSM), and Open Data.

The Hackfest 2022 is happening in Kathmandu, Nepal from 20th June 2022 to 24th June 2022. It is organized by the Open Mapping Hub Asia-Pacific, in collaboration with Open Knowledge Nepal, Kathmandu Living Labs, and Open Tech Community, and is supported by Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team.
